A second change was made at 3:45 p.m. The original sub-headline for the Burlington section suggested there was a combined pupil/public fleet. That's not entirely the case, and the headline has been changed to be more accurate.
Burlington, a city with a lot of similarities to the Charlottesville area. Both have roughly the same municipal population, and both are home to their state's flagship university. I am interested in following up. If I had unlimited funding, I would do an entire series on the entire stretch between here and there. I spent time in New Hampshire and Vermont in the late 90's, and want to find ways to go back and write about policy.
I took a trip there in late January and the transformation along the I-81 corridor between now and then was astounding. I want to understand how this country has changed, and what are the opportunities for us to learn from each other?
Of course, that project has to get in line behind my other desired expansion project! More on that soon!
