Hi Sean - thanks for giving this a try, I actually already follow a few substack newsletters, so this works fine for me. Thanks for alk your work, and making an effort to find ways to connect outside of fb amd twitter.
Reddit is what works best for me, because it allows me to write "anonymously" and to write a second version of each newsletter.
I'll use this feature, but I think Substack rushed it through a little. I'm glad I buried this on a Friday afternoon because its caused quite a bit of confusion. I don't think it's quite ready yet, but I admire Substack for trying to provide an alternative.
What I need is a way to communicate with people about the status of the new newsletter if there's a delay. Twitter worked well for that, but... I have to get off of Twitter.
I don't think this is the solution, but maybe it will become something else? Who knows? I hope most people know that every single day as a journalist is experimental, always an adventure!
The chat feature is not available on Android yet. and I concur this is not how I want to interact. I want fewer, not more apps. Less or no social media, but I am certain I am turning into a Gen X fuddy duddy.
I feel the same way. I thought they'd fixed the Android issue. I think this is a launch that is a little premature, and I'll never send out another email about it! My main concern about a chat function on a mobile app is how it takes me away from a PC, where I can work much more efficiently. A little screen is not sufficient!
Also a fuddy duddy. I want to go back to my old Atari 800 and a modem that connect me to Compuserve!
Totally understood! This is an experiment and I won’t be doing anything else with this other than schedule updates. You won’t miss out on anything! Thanks for reading!

Sorry, I don't want another app. I don't use twitter either. I just want your news sent to my email. Thanks!
