I think the City is short-sighted to consider selling the land on West Main.
There are so few trees, a greenspace would be beneficial there. The setbacks for new construction have been completely inadequate for accommodating mature street trees, from UVA to the mall. It’s a very unattractive main street, and probably a heat-generating area of the City, because there is so much pavement and so little greenery.
