Restaurant site in Belmont sells for $1.4 million and many more November 2023 Charlottesville transactions
Another look at property transactions in Charlottesville in a time of transition and policy change
On Friday, the City of Charlottesville will publish property assessments for 2024. At that point, the data for transactions for the year to date will begin to be published. Before then, I am hoping to get December’s summary out as well.
Like everyone, I want to know what the new Development Code is going to do to the market and Charlottesville’s built environment. While I am interested in knowing mathematical trends, I find myself seeing stories in every single transaction. I don’t have time to dig into all of them, but I’m finding myself needing to become more acquainted with details I don’t understand yet in order to fully explain the continuing story of this community.
You’ve probably seen one these already but I will give a quick summary. Paid subscribers get a first look at information that will be published publicly later in the week. Almost all of my content is available for free for anyone to read thanks to the 600 or so people who are paying me to do the work. This is one small incentive to join in and help pay for my growing business.
I’m interested in the anecdotal but also seek more information. If you have questions or insights, please leave a comment. I’m going to right get to it so that I can move right into December.
