House on Belmont Avenue sells for over $1.5M and dozens of other real estate transactions from August 2023
Another anecdotal look at sales information in Charlottesville
Time now for another anecdotal look at property transactions in Charlottesville, a community where the rules for development will soon change to make it easier for property owners to build more units on their land. I’ve been offering these summaries to paid subscribers of Charlottesville Community Engagement for over two and a half years. Over 500 people will get first look at August sales before this will get posted to Information Charlottesville.
This is one of the benefits from being a paid subscriber to my newsletter and podcast. The other is knowing that you’re helping to ensure I can keep going with the work and to fuel my hope I can soon expand to hire people to assist me in my work to cover the decisions made by local officials, as well as whatever seems to make sense.
I’m on a bit of a break this week and will return somewhat fresh on Sunday. But I wanted to finally get this one done, and there’s a chance I’ll get caught up with September soon. I’m also hoping to get caught up with the Cville Plans Together initiative. City Council has a work session on the day I’m publishing this at which they’ll discuss next steps. Stay tuned!
Some notes on this summary if you’re not seen it before. I don’t identify purchasers by name unless it’s an LLC or another entity. All of the information comes from the city’s GIS system which is updated frequently. I try to provide context, and I list what the future zoning will be for each property.
Any other questions? Drop me a line. Paid subscribers, feel free to send this around to people. Unpaid subscriber? Wait five days or consider supporting my work.
